Writing awards for teens

The students being recognized today join a legacy of teens facilitating important dialogue through their art and writing.

Outside the arts, Awards alumni employ their creativity to become successful in any number of ways — leaders in fields like journalism, medicine, finance, government and civil affairs, the law, science, toy design, and more. The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, the nation's longest-running and most prestigious scholarship and recognition initiative for creative teens, is now accepting submissions from. In celebration of this legacy, Bennington launched the Young Writers Awards to promote excellence in writing at the high school level.

Our goal with this competition is to recognize outstanding writing achievement by high school students. More recently, Stephen King, Richard Linklater, Zac Posen and Lena Dunham received Scholastic Art and Writing Awards when they were teens.
